Will Scrimshaw is a London-based technology lawyer and leads the Skype Consumer legal team.

Will is responsible for providing global legal advice to the Skype engineering group located across Europe and the US. He has worked for Skype since 2008, supporting the company’s trajectory and growth through to purchase by Microsoft Corporation in 2011.

Prior to his current role Will worked in-house as a solicitor in the litigation team at BT plc, focussing on IP and commercial cases. He trained at Norton Rose and qualified into their IP/IT and Dispute Resolution departments. Will holds a Diploma in IP Law and Practice from Bristol University, when he also obtained his undergraduate LLB. He has Higher Rights of Audience and is CIPP/E qualified.

Will enjoys supporting a number of pro bono initiatives, including working with Law Works to encourage uptake of new technologies in the provision of pro bono legal advice, and participation in the Lawyers in Schools program.
